Opportunities with United Way Partner Agencies
ADRC of St. Croix County
The DayAway Program is a day respite program for older adults who are frail or have memory issues. It is offered through the ADRC of St. Croix County. This program supports caregivers' well-being by giving them time to recharge and replenish themselves. It is a fun, safe and structured environment for the care-receiver. The day includes a home cooked meal, a variety of games, crafts, exercises and movies. There are lots of laughs throughout the day. Volunteers are currently needed 9am-3pm Mondays in Hudson. Contact Tara at 715-381-4366.
The ADRC always needs volunteers to deliver meals and take older adults to medical appointments. Contact Tracy at email@example.com.
Interfaith Caregivers of Polk County
Receive instant gratification. Help a senior citizen or disabled adult in your community with yard work. Assist with simple chores, like raking, picking up branches, washing outside windows. Volunteer solo or as a team. Help a couple of hours. Schedule is flexible based on your availability. Contact Sheila at 715-485-9500 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers are needed at both our River Falls and New Richmond ReStore locations. ReStore is a thrift store focused mostly on building and construction materials, items for home renovation, and everything in between. All of the profits generated at the ReStores go directly back to Habitat for Humanity to help build and renovate more homes.
Volunteers are needed Tuesday-Saturday to help run the cash register, pick up donations, create floor displays, and to fix and donations. This is the perfect opportunity for people who love to tinker, upcycle, and DIY or who are interested in learning how to do those things.
Do you have a passion for or are interested in learning construction? Do you want to help provide safe, decent, affordable homes for people in your community? Volunteering to do construction with St. Croix Valley Habitat is for you. We currently are finishing construction on four homes in River Falls and are looking to undertake multiple home renovation projects in Pierce and St. Croix counties, but we need your help in getting there.
Flexible scheduling is available. Contact Debbie at email@example.com at 715-425-5623.
