Opportunities with United Way St. Croix Valley
Volunteers work on all aspects of the campaign. This includes making calls on current corporate accounts and follow-up on the accounts. Our volunteers are expected to attend a training session and will be given a full position description. Volunteers will work August through November.
Day of Caring Volunteer
The Day of Caring is our community service day where teams of volunteers work on small projects for local seniors and nonprofit agencies. We will not be doing a Day of Caring for 2012, but we welcome individual groups who are interested in having United Way help schedule their own Day of Caring event. Opportunities with United Way-Supported Agencies
Endeavors Adult Development Center
Volunteers are needed for Endeavors' new Day Friends program in Balsam Lake, particularly on Tuesdays and Fridays. The program is for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and is the only program of its kind in Polk County. Volunteers can come for just a few hours to help with participant activities such as cribbage or puzzles, and they have an organ for anyone who is musical. St. Croix Valley Sexual Assault Response Team
St. Croix Valley Sexual Assault Response Team, Inc. is looking for compassionate women to be Client Support Volunteers (advocates) for victims during the sexual assault examination. Client Support Volunteers help St. Croix Valley SART continue to provide best practice, free and 24-hour care to survivors of sexual assault.
Little Free Library
Have great woodworking skills? We need several volunteers to help get donated little libraries "outdoor-ready", sand and paint official Little Free Library signs and generally help us get libraries prepared and ready for shipping to their new neighborhood. Little Free Library needs you if you love to work with your hands, put care into everything you build or fix up and want a fun and important new way to use those skills to help respond to the tremendous interest in Little Free Library worldwide!
