Volunteering your time and skills to help the community is rewarding. United Way St. Croix Valley welcomes your help in various ways during our campaign and fund distribution processes. Our nonprofit partners also have opportunities.
If you would like these opportunities emailed to you, sign up for our Volunteer Interest email list. If you are interested in posting a volunteer opportunity, email the details to Kate Smith and it will be posted.

ADRC of St. Croix County
The DayAway Program is a day respite program for older adults who are frail or have memory issues. It is offered through the ADRC of St. Croix County. This program supports caregivers' well-being by giving them time to recharge and replenish themselves. It is a fun, safe and structured environment for the care-receiver. The day includes a home cooked meal, a variety of games, crafts, exercises and movies. There are lots of laughs throughout the day. Volunteers are currently needed 9am-3pm Mondays in Hudson. Contact Tara at 715-381-4366.
The ADRC always needs volunteers to deliver meals and take older adults to medical appointments. Contact Tracy at email@example.com.
Interfaith Caregivers of Polk County
Receive instant gratification. Help a senior citizen or disabled adult in your community with yard work. Assist with simple chores, like raking, picking up branches, washing outside windows. Volunteer solo or as a team. Help a couple of hours. Schedule is flexible based on your availability. Contact Sheila at 715-485-9500 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers are needed at both our River Falls and New Richmond ReStore locations. ReStore is a thrift store focused mostly on building and construction materials, items for home renovation, and everything in between. All of the profits generated at the ReStores go directly back to Habitat for Humanity to help build and renovate more homes.
Volunteers are needed Tuesday-Saturday to help run the cash register, pick up donations, create floor displays, and to fix and donations. This is the perfect opportunity for people who love to tinker, upcycle, and DIY or who are interested in learning how to do those things.
Flexible scheduling is available. Contact Kayla at email@example.com or 715-425-5623.
Do you have a passion for or are interested in learning construction? Do you want to help provide safe, decent, affordable homes for people in your community? Volunteering to do construction with St. Croix Valley Habitat is for you. We currently are finishing construction on four homes in River Falls and are looking to undertake multiple home renovation projects in Pierce and St. Croix counties, but we need your help in getting there.
Flexible scheduling is available. Contact Kayla at firstname.lastname@example.org at 715-425-5623.
Somerset Community Food Pantry
Volunteers are currently needed Tuesdays and Thursdays. Visit the pantry website to download the volunteer form.

3M Retiree Warren Schneider
The 3M Foundation has donated $250 to United Way St. Croix Valley in recognition of Warren Schneider's commitment to the community.
Schneider has far exceeded the 25 hours 3M requires for a donation. As a United Way St. Croix Valley volunteer, he has worked extensively as 2011 Campaign Co-Chair with his wife Linda Robertson. He has also been a very active United Way St. Croix Valley board member for years and was the Board President.
"3M employees and retirees generously give their time and skills to help others," said Robin Torgerson, vice-president, 3M Community Affairs. "We are pleased to recognize their commitment to their communities."
As part of the 3M Volunteer Match, the 3M Foundation will donate $250 to eligible non-profit organizations for which a 3M employee volunteers 20 hours or a 3M retiree volunteers 25 hours or more per calendar year. For more information on this program, please contact 3M Community Affairs at 651-733-0144.
